CERTIFIED INTERPRETER NET

BIBI BOWMAN-RODRIGUEZ

You strive to provide your clients with the highest available quality representation.

When an interpreter's services are part of that representation, you also expect only the highest quality.

Bibi Bowman-Rodriguez has been a professional interpreter serving the courts of North Carolina since 1993. Bibi interprets an average of 2,500 cases per year and has interpreted in literally hundreds of trials.  Her speed and accuracy during simultaneous interpretation at the defense table and her acute visual memory for testimonial detail in consecutive interpretation from the stand afford her clients the most faithful interpretation available. Bibi is able to establish rapport as easily with thugs and felons as with law enforcement, legal professionals and members of all walks of life, making her an invaluable instrument for gaining the trust needed between attorney/client to elicit the information both of these need from each other.  Her local accent and ability in both English and Spanish to flow easily between erudite language, standard speech and street slang, as the situation requires, impart to jurors and judges the true testimony of a witness without the distraction of an accent different from their own. Bibi adheres to the Code of Professional Ethics and Credo posted to the right of this text in all areas of her service.

Bibi Bowman-Rodriguez passed the North Carolina Court Interpreter Certification Examination, becoming NC State Certified as a Court Interpreter in an exam process provided through the NCAOC the first year that North Carolina joined the National Center for State Courts' Consortium for State Court Interpreter Certification.  In a field of over 350 candidates, Bibi was one of only ten who successfully passed the exam on the first date it was given.  She was sworn in as a Certified Interpreter and officer of the Court by Chief Justice I. Beverly Lake in the Supreme Court of North Carolina.

Bibi received her Bachelors Degree in French and Art from ECU in 1980 and continued in the Masters program for Fine Arts with a concentration in oils on canvas until moving to South America.  She is currently writing a novel using many of her experiences there as background for her fictional characters.
